Basket of Light
Basket of Light by David Trubridge are inspired by a Maori creation myth. These hanging lights are made from Finnish birch plywood, a material thin enough to allow light to pass through. It is also a sustainably managed resource which is converted to ply with minimal waste. Basket of Light are available in three versions: Leaf, reminiscent of the staggered leaves from a Lancewood, a tree native to New Zealand; Crystal, a more angular pattern reminiscent of ice formations or crystal rock forms; Wave Basket has a flowing shape element reminiscent or flowing water or sine waves. Each of the baskets cast intricate shadows downwards, the spread and focus of which can be adjusted by hanging height. Ideal as a decorative light piece in commercial spaces.
